Updates on Sewing Up My Fabric!

Since I originally posted my description of this blog, I have somewhat erred from my intention. I have actually bought much more fabric than I had but ................. in my defense, I got the solids at 50% off and the quilt shop fabric at 75% off, so that doesn't count, right? LOL

Sewing up the blue scraps!

Just sewing up the scraps from leftover blue project this month.  I still need to square them up, but I think I will do that a little later in the year.

These are my 5 reindeer I made for the 2016 Quilt Doodle BOM. I really enjoyed making these blocks. Click on the button on the right of this blog for more information.

January Block - Quilt Addicts Annonymous 2016 BOM

This is my January block of the Quilt Addicts Anonymous 2016 BOM
 http://www.quiltaddictsanonymous.com/block-of-the-month/

I am using the RSC16 color of the month for these blocks.  I am anxious to see how the quilt turns out.

Below is a pic of all 4 blocks we are to make for this month.  This is not the final placement, but this block would make a great quilt all by itself!  I must get better lighting for my pics.  You cannot see the real colors of the blue against the black.

RSC16 Sampler

2016 Column Along - Twinkler Star - I am off to a slow start, but I finally got one of my twinkler stars completed.  They were actually easier than I expected.  I used the tri-recs rulers and it was a piece of cake!  Thanks to Angela for the encouragement to do these stars. I was really dreading it and they turned out to be easy! For more information on this QAL, please click on the button to the right on this blog.

My first post for the "Play With Me" QAL

This is my first post of the "Play With Me" QAL.  I am looking forward to seeing how she suggests quilting and making the play pieces for each game.  I don't even know how to play some of the games, so it should be a fun learning experience.  Grab the button on the right side bar of this blog and play along!

A big finish for 2015!

Do you remember PacMan?  When my son was somewhere between 8 and 11 years old, he wanted to make a PacMan quilt.  I gave him some double knit solid fabric and cut the black rectangles for him and he designed the ghost pattern, cut all of them out and hand appliqued almost half of them down and somehow life got in the way and he didn't finish.  Occasionally, he would ask me if I still had his PacMan Quilt.  While we were in the process of cleaning out the attic recently, he asked me again about his quilt.  I went through every box in the attic and low and behold, when I opened the last box, there was his PacMan Quilt neatly tucked away in a Ziploc baggie! I finished appliqueing the rest of the ghosts, added a PacMan and the eyeballs on the ghosts and quilted it for him for his 44th birthday!  He said when he saw those blue ghosts, it brought back memories of him appliqueing them down and how hard it was.  He did a good job!
