Updates on Sewing Up My Fabric!

Since I originally posted my description of this blog, I have somewhat erred from my intention. I have actually bought much more fabric than I had but ................. in my defense, I got the solids at 50% off and the quilt shop fabric at 75% off, so that doesn't count, right? LOL

July Block for Starry Bright Sky QAL

Block One
These blocks were a joint effort with my daughter-in-law.
After spending a full week working on this block, I finally asked my daughter-in-law to help.  She is good at figuring out things like this. She likes a challenge. Lucky for me! LOL We worked many hours on this one before finally coming up with this design.  I know it isn't the star design, but this is as close as we could get. LOL

Block Two
We worked another day on this one.  I have to give her all the credit for both of these blocks.  All I did was the prep work on the strips! She did the rest. We looked at a lot of on line videos until she was able to make the cubes.  I honestly don't think the cubes were any easier and neither does she! Wow, they are finished!

2018 Mid-Year Review

What I am working on now.

Linking up with Yvonne at QuiltingJetgirl for a mid year look at my 2018 goals.

I tried to make my goals real and attainable.  Some days it is difficult, but I think I am pretty much on target.  See my comments in red below.

2018 Planning

Using my new planner, I have chosen 3 main goals for the year.

1. Empty garage of all moving boxes - I have been moved in for a year now and still have a 3 car garage full of boxes!  Oh my!  I am hoping to get one box emptied each day until it is done. I also plan to take before and after pics.
While I haven't emptied a box a day, I have averaged that by emptying more on other days.  I am just about half way through.  I did take pictures but I had a computer glitch and lost them.

2. Sort all fabric - That seems to be a never-ending project but I have decided to start each week with a reasonable goal for sorting fabric for the week with before and after pics.  I forgot to  mention that I still have fabric in containers in the garage! Oh my!
I am making progress with my stash but I don't know if I will be where I would like to be at the end of this year.

3.  Keep house clean - Now, my house isn't dirty, but I like to keep a handle on things and I figure if I make a plan, then I can work it around my quilting and I reference Cynthia Brunz's blog title "Quilting is more fun than Housework!"  I can assure you that I'd rather be quilting!
I am slowly working into a routine to keep the house clean with minimal effort so I can concentrate on my quilts and fabric stash!

Well, I have all of this written in my Quilters' Planner so lets's see how I manage everything.
It did help to write things in my Quilters' Planner.  I hope to do better with it next year.

I wish everyone their best in keeping up with their goals.

One Monthly Goal - July Link up

OMG for July

This picture was my June OMG which was to get this quilt top assembled.  My July OMG is to get it quilted and bound. I am so excited to almost be finished with this quilt.  I want to hang it in my sewing room.

Please go to Elm Street Quilts and check out what others hope to complete this month!
