Play with Me 2016 QAL

I am trying to incorporate the RSC16 color of the month with my BOMs and QALs.

This one challenged me a bit.  It was suggested to to hand embroidery, but I have been wanting to explore my machine stitches, so I used this as an opportunity for that.  Some of the stitches really look different on fabric vs the screen on the sewing machine!

In keeping with the RSC16 color of the month, I made my backgammon board with purples and yellows.

RSC16 Updaates

RSC 16  Purples and Yellow

I made 12 purple butterflies, but when I put them in a column, they didn't look too much like anything, so I added a column and alternated my butterflies with 6-1/2" blocks. I plan to embroider antennae on them, but haven't done that yet.

Quilt Addicts Annonymous BOM

Since I am trying to incorporate the RSC16 colors each month with my other BOMs, I now have 4 blocks done for the Quil Addicts Annonymous BOM.  I am really anxious to see how this is going to look when it is all put together.

I am using the RSC color of the month for the other BOMs that I am doing this year so they will all be a bit of a surprise when they are completed!

 Persimmon Quilts Scrap Challenge 2016

I am trying hard to use up all of my scraps each  month and not let them go back into the bin, so I just sewed up some of them.  The green triangles were to big to throw away and too small to piece, so I just made some crude trees with raw edge applique.

These are additional brown and pink scraps I had left over from a large quilt I finished, so I just sewed them up.  

I will keep collecting blocks and bits and pieces until I have enough for a quilt.

Sewing up the blue scraps!

Just sewing up the scraps from leftover blue project this month.  I still need to square them up, but I think I will do that a little later in the year.
